Overview
The Jones Professional Program in Law was developed to foster a greater understanding of American
law and government, to stimulate interest in legal careers, and to provide opportunities for
participation in political life.
Law & Public Policy Program
Sophomore Year: Students will take the introductory “Law in American Society” course, which will include a service-learning component. (See “Service Learning” in brochure.)
During the junior and senior years of this program, students will take courses through the College Bridge Program at DePaul University. (See “College Credit” in brochure.)
Junior Year: As part of their “U.S. Government & Public Policy” coursework, students will take three of the four classes listed here:
- American Political Systems
- Social Problems or Law and Society
- Contemporary Issues in Ethics
Senior Year: As part of their “Criminal Law and Civil Law” coursework, students will take three of the four classes listed here:
- Theories of Crime & Delinquency
- Forensic Chemistry or Chemicals, Drugs and Living Systems
- Law and the Political System
